Fugro's Starfix.Plus system utilises dual frequency code correction data from the Fugro network of reference stations, delivered via both Inmarsat and SpotBeam satellites. These corrections, combined with a dual frequency GPS receiver are used to produce a position of high accuracy. This system can provide a positional accuracy of better than 1.5 m (95%) horizontally at a distance of 1500 km from the closest reference station.
The minimum recommended equipment for Starfix.Plus is:
• Fugro' HP Mobile Unit, including Dual Frequency GPS Receiver, Antenna (with optional demodulators) and SPM5 software
• Fugro's Corrections Demodulator connected to Inmarsat or Spot Satellite (can optionally be included in the HP Mobile Unit)
• Uplinks
Or:
• Dual Frequency GPS Receiver and antenna
• Fugro Corrections Demodulator connected to Inmarsat or Spot Satellite
• PC with Fugro's MultiFix5 Network Position Computation and Quality Control Software
